Brenden Queen Wins First Career Pole in East Carolina Motor Speedway Opener

By: Justin Kern

Robersonville, NC – Fifteen Late Model Stock Cars piled into the pits earlier this morning at East Carolina Motor Speedway for the 75-lap opening night feature. Only thirteen cars took time in qualifying as the sun set over turns one and two and fourteen cars should take the green flag.

Brenden Queen, driver out of Chesapeake, Virginia, making just his second start here at the high banked 3/8th mile oval, has set the fastest time qualifying to capture his first official pole award of his career. Putting a lap of 15.302 (88.224 MPH) to beat out the likes of Thomas Burbage, Tyler Matthews, Kenneth James and previous Limited Late Model champ Louis White.

“Feels great to win the pole here tonight,” Queen tells us post qualifying. “Couldn’t be possible without my all my guys and of course my sponsors. We were a little loose there off four but we stayed in the gas and it worked out for us.” Brenden Queen finished both practices this afternoon second on the speed charts, feeling comfortable with his piece for the start of the race.

Queen will lead the field to the green flag later this evening in the hunt for his first career NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock.
